Governor's Volunteer Service Award 2012

Serve Illinois recently awarded the 2012 Governor's Volunteer Service Awards. I was honored to receive the Northeast Illinois youth division. In April I traveled down to Springfield for the reception held at the Governor Pat Quinn's mansion. I had a wonderful time meeting the other 23 recipients from all over Illinois. I enjoy giving back to my community through DARE America, Holiday Heroes, Feed My Starvung Children, and other organizations.

India Independence Day parade

On August 19th I walked in the Indian Independence Day parade in Schaumburg. I was joined by the Miss India Illinois queens. It was wonderful meeting the Mayors of town I live in and the town I go to school in; Schaumburg & Hoffman Estates. I had a great time with new and old friends.

Miss Teen International 2012

One thing I love about Chicago - many amazing Nationals get held in this beautiful city every year. I enjoyed watching the Miss Teen International Pageant downtown on July 28th. The contestants were fierce and fabulous, congratulations to the new winner!

Feed My Starving Children

On August 20th, I went with my Holiday Heroes team (Holiday Heroes is a teen volunteer group I founded last year) to the Feed My Starving Children in Schaumburg. We all had a wonderful time packing food into boxes to be shipped to over 70 different countries! FMSC is a great organization that really makes a difference in the world. I can't wait to go back again sometime. :)

Fourth of July parade

I loved getting to know my Miss, Preteen, and Princess sister queens this year. We rode together in the Libertyville Fourth of July parade. Happy birthday America!
